Over $100,000 Raised!
We are thrilled and deeply moved to announce that thanks to your incredible generosity and support, we have officially crossed a significant milestone: $100,000 raised for the Maya Anopolsky Memorial Fund!
A Message from the Anopolsky Family
The Anopolsky family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to each and every donor for their contributions. Your support means the world to them and helps honor Maya's memory in a truly meaningful way.
Important Note Regarding Anonymous Donations
We've encountered a small issue that we'd like to address. The Washington University donation site initially only accepted anonymous donations. As a result, some donors may not see their names listed on the donation page.
If You've Donated and Don't See Your Name Listed
If you have made a donation but don't see your name on the list, we kindly request that you take the following action:
Please email airgreenberg2@gmail.com to inform the Anopolsky family of your donation.
You do not need to include the amount donated in your email.
This will help us ensure that your donation is properly attributed.
Potential Contact from Washington University
Washington University may be reaching out to donors separately to inquire if you wish to remove the anonymous designation on their site. Please keep an eye out for communication from them regarding this matter.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us accurately recognize all of our wonderful supporters.
Thank you once again for your incredible generosity and for helping us honor Maya's legacy.
You are Making It Happen
Dear Friends of Maya,
We are deeply moved by the outpouring of support for The Maya Rae Anopolsky Memorial Fund. In just a short time since our last update, we have made significant progress towards our goal of $250,000 to endow the fund in perpetuity at Washington University.
We are thrilled to announce that we have now raised over $80,000. This tremendous response speaks volumes about the impact Maya had on so many lives and the desire of her friends, family, and community to honor her memory in a meaningful way.
This fund will enable deserving students to achieve their dreams, just as Maya once hoped to do. Every contribution brings us closer to ensuring that Maya's spirit of kindness, joy, and ambition lives on through the opportunities provided to future Washington University students.
For those who have already donated, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your generosity is making a real difference. If you haven't yet had the chance to contribute and feel able to do so, we welcome your support in helping us reach our goal. All donations remain tax-deductible and can be made securely through Washington University's official page, which you can access via the donate button.
We invite you to WashU fundraising update page - [HERE] - to track our progress against our fundraising goal. We will continue to provide updates on this page as we move forward.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us keep Maya's memory alive through this impactful initiative.
With sincere appreciation,
Adam Breslawsky, Ed Baxter, Mark Greenberg, Michael Shuman, and Scott Greenberg
A Message from Friends
A message from the organizers. As long-time friends of Sanford and Jennifer Anopolsky, we are making it our mission to support their efforts to fund an endowed scholarship honoring their daughter Maya.
Dear Friends of Maya and The Anopolsky Family,
We are all heartbroken by the tragic news that Maya Anopolsky passed away on May 28, 2024 at only 21 years old. It is unthinkable to lose someone so promising and full of life at such a young age. Words seem to fail how we feel for our close friends Jennifer, Sanford, Robert, and Max, whose family will never be the same.
Maya was a steadfast and true friend who brought kindness and joy to those around her from Valley Beth Shalom and Laurence School in LA, to Holton-Arms in Bethesda, and Washington University. As a rising senior at Wash U and with a planned summer internship in advertising in New York, Maya was on her way to realizing her dreams, a future that now is unimaginably cut short.
To honor Maya's memory, we are working with Washington University, where Jennifer & Sanford first met, to form The Maya Rae Anopolsky Memorial Fund. With your help, we intend to raise $250,000 which will endow the fund in perpetuity and enable deserving students to achieve their dreams just as Maya once hoped. We are pleased to announce that the fund is off to a terrific start having already raised nearly $50,000. Please check back on the official WashU page - HERE - to track our progress against our fundraising goal.
Both the Anopolsky’s and we recognize that many have already made generous donations on behalf of Maya and the family and they are sincerely appreciated. If you feel comfortable, we hope you’ll consider giving to this worthiest of causes. All donations are tax-deductible and are processed directly through Washington University’s secure site accessible via the donate button.
Please continue to follow this page in the days to come, as we will provide updates on our progress toward our goal.
Thank You,
Adam Breslawsky, Ed Baxter, Mark Greenberg, Michael Shuman, and Scott Greenberg
